2003-11-04 - 1:50 a.m. poems are difficult because they are part song and part word..and songs not only need necessary meaning..they need a good sound to them.. like you could sing the word "cake"...but if it didn't sound good to your ears, it wouldn't matter if it was the right word to use.. it needs momentum. your poem should have pace to it. it should be there somewhere your words break up the pace and make it become a piece of prose an explanation instead of a movement of meaning like when a butterfly flies..it's just flying..but the way it flies tricks your mind into assigning sentimental value to its flight that is a poem you need to trick me much better than that good poetry is more male than female.. the sentiment of a poem depends heavily upon its structure just like the love of a woman depends heavily upon the love of a man
